Diptych oil painting on canvas by listed female artist Sylvia Pardo. The composition shows a portrait of Charlotte Yazbek as Hamlet's Ophelia, after she drowned in the brook. Sylvia Pardo and Charlotte Yazbek were great friends during their life and there is even speculation about them having an amorous relationship. This painting was made by Pardo without the consent of Yazbek as a surprise for her. Once finished Yazbek expressed that she didn't want to be pictured in this manner, and asked Pardo to destroy the painting. Sylvia didn't and it became one of the factors in their separation. Each panel is signed individually.
